Trusts
Trusts are created for many reasons and there are various types of trusts which can be created depending on the reason for its formation.
Some are created in order to re-distribute family wealth whilst the settlor maintains control of the assets, others are created to eliminate or reduce unnecessary tax charges by setting aside assets for future beneficiaries outside of the inheritance tax net.
As trusts are relatively easy to set up and can be very tax efficient they are popular as part if the inheritance tax planning process.
